Calling for Luke 18 Prayer
I have much to share about our James 1:27 Dinner last night. Honestly, I am still quite undone by the whole evening and want to tell you all about it. But, that will have to wait. I simply need to let you know what happened with the court appearance earlier today. But rather than explain, I'll let Liliya's email to me this afternoon suffice.
Dear Cindy,
Hello! I have bad news. Today the judge decided that he needs two more documents to make his decision. He asked Tamara to bring for the next court hearing ( 19 of June) two documents, one from the retirement fund and another – from her doctor about her health. Tamara and I are very, very sad and disappointed but he is the judge and I hope he knows better and he does not want to make our life more difficult . He has not explained Tamara why he needs this documents, he has just said to get them.
She will get all the documents during this week and on Monday he has Visitors Day and maybe we can get an appointment just to speak to him and explain everything again.
I know that it is God’s plan and we should continue praying and everything will be fine.
Love,
Liliya
P.S. say hello to your family. I am very, very sad today.
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.' "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'" And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. Luke 18:1-8a
Liliya, I am very sad too. I am trusting in the Lord for His perfect timing, and yet it is hard, very hard.
I am so sad, but I'm also so very thankful for the encouragment we received last night from so many, right here in our town, who want to see Katya come home and committed their time, their talents, and their resources toward this goal. I believe the Lord gave us last night, partly in preparation for this news today. He knew we would need a demonstration of His lavish love as an encouragement.
Now I have no idea about the heart of this judge, but I would like to ask you to join me, in Luke 18 fashion, in praying for him, for Katya, for Tamara, for Liliya, and for us.
