Radio Interview on GottaLife
Several years ago, I was at a Speakers and Writers Conference through Proverbs 31 Ministries. Through a God connection between David MacDonald of Liberty Health Group and Kenny Russell with GottaLife, I ended up in the home of Kenny and his wife, Hayley for lunch and an "In Your City" radio interview with Kenny.
This interview still runs on their regular schedule, but is also available through podcast, if you'd like to hear me talk about real life for real women.
We've stayed in loose contact with Kenny and Hayley through the years, and so I wasn't too surprised to see Kenny leave a comment on this "Burning Question" post. However, I was a bit surprised that he wanted to do another interview with both Bill and me about the adoption. But I was even more surprised when Kenny told me about the Lord's movement in this situation.
Last week, Kenny had sensed that he really needed to be praying for our family and the adoption process. He knew Katya had been here for the summer, but didn't know much beyond that. After praying for a bit, he decided to poke around the internet a bit and came across "Welcoming Katya" and left the first comment.
Meanwhile, Kenny's wife Hayley was picking up their ministry mail at the post office. In their mailbox was a letter that Bill and I had sent them telling our adoption story and inviting them to partner with us in this adoption adventure.
Now this is the part that is SO neat. Kenny had been led to pray BEFORE he really knew what was going on with us. God placed us on his heart, and he began to pray for us. THEN, Hayley came through the door with our letter.
So, Kenny and Hayley knew that this was another God-orchestrated situation and Kenny left the second comment. Bill and I called him, and Kenny interviewed us on Thursday. We had a great time talking with Kenny and are amazed that God would bring this opportunity to us. You can listen to the interview here.
We're praying that this broadcast will be used by God to spur MANY to ask God what He would have them do to express His heart of justice for the fatherless. We're praying that MANY will be led to pray for the red tape to be worked through in a way that enables Katya to join our family this summer. We're praying that through this interview, MANY will be prompted to join God in His work to uphold the fatherless.
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked, he brings to ruin. The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord. Psalm 146:4-10
