Flashes of Lightning, Rolls of Thunder
Huddled and blanketed on our sun porch before dawn, our children gather to watch the light show. As the dogs tremble, the storm passes and the sun creeps above the cornfield, rosy hewed and dappled in the mist of the morning. Rainbows, three of them, appear in the western sky. Now fading, the rumblings of the next round roll and resonate across the pastures, across the pond.
Take a pause in your day and join me in praising this one who is ...
Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To you the only wise king
Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore you
(Revelation 4:1-11)
