The Waiting Period is nearly over!
Our second daughter, Grace, was born seven weeks early. She was completely healthy, just tiny. In order to gain weight, they held her in the NICU and I came in twice a day to feed her and just snuggle. I LOVED those NICU nurses who cared for Grace and me so well!
With Katya, I feel a bit like the birth has happened, but she needed to stay in the hospital just a bit longer. By God's provision, she's been able to be in the loving care of Tamara, her grandmother. Although the separation from her has been hard, I trust that this time with Tamara was exactly what the Lord intended. He didn't have to orchestrate the timing so that "Fall Break" began the day that we had court. He didn't have to orchestrate that Katya would be with her grandmother while schools went into quarantine. He didn't have to, but He did.
Tomorrow afternoon, Bill and the kiddoes will drop me off at Dulles Airport to begin this final leg of our journey to welcome Katya into our family. We have return tickets scheduled for November 18th. Obviously we are all eager to be under one roof. Please join us in prayer that all goes smoothly and Katya and I are able to come home soon!
