Wouldn't you know ...
The biggest snow we've had all year came on Sunday night. But, we braved the snowy roads to notarize a million documents. And, our Associate Pastor met us for the FIFTH time to sign and notarize the employment verification letter. This one has been tricky for us as a ministry couple because of housing allowances and how that impacts salary.
So, we headed to Richmond for our apostilling adventure only to pull into a snowy parking lot and discover that Governor Kaine had declared a "snow emergency" and all the state offices were CLOSED!
And, there's another bump in the road. Our copies of our doctors' licenses have to be notarized as exact duplicates of the originals. However the notary I saw today for this says that she doesn't notarize duplicates of originals, only signatures. Hmmm... Any tips? Our doctors and their staff have been amazing, but I'm wondering how much more patience they'll have when I show up AGAIN tomorrow telling them that I need something else.
So, we're praying and waiting to hear from Maggie, at FrontierHorizon. Bill's ready to drive back to Richmond tomorrow and then drive to wherever Maggie is to hand deliver the documents so that she can take them with her to Ukraine.
I'm a bit discouraged, so pray for us to see God's plan for getting these documents into Dima's hands.
