What does it mean for me, as a woman, to follow Jesus?
Women, have you thought about this? Particularly if you are married and have children? Because Jesus was a man. And his twelve disciples were men. And they did things like leave their nets and follow him.
But I'm a woman. I have a husband and children. And yet, I don't think the call for me, as a woman, to follow Jesus is any less that it is for men. So, what I've been doing is reading through the Gospels in a basic chronological order and asking the Lord to teach me how to follow him, to become like him.
Women, it's been amazing. Although most of what Jesus is teaching me is in my journal, some of it has dripped into these posts.
The One Question Every Leader Should Ask Those She's Serving
As I read the Bible I ask questions like ...
1. Jesus, what are you doing?
2. Jesus, would you show me your heart?
2. Jesus, what are you teaching those around you?
3. Jesus, what are you revealing to me?
4. Jesus, would you please help me apply this in my life?
What does it mean for me, as a woman, to follow Jesus? What does it mean for you? I'm continuing to explore this question and I'm sure you'll see more of what I'm discovering over the coming weeks and months.
If you'd like to join me on this journey, come back tomorrow. I'm going to post my reading schedule. Then, our family will be at the beach for a week, totally unplugged. No blog posting, no facebook, no nothing. Just our family, a few really good books, my Bible, and my journal.
